Connect payment activity to the ledger
ROH needed a ledger that reflected the payments handled by its hospitality platform. The integration had to fit into the existing application and record financial events without replacing the core payment logic.
Piton Labs’ scope included integrating Twisp into ROH’s Rails application and building the interface that sends financial events to the ledger. Keeping operational code separate from ledger logic made those responsibilities explicit.
Make the account model maintainable
The work included a chart of accounts for ROH’s payment flows and a migration system for changing it over time. Changes to the account structure needed to preserve the integrity of historical records.
We also worked on automated balance checks and monitoring to identify reconciliation discrepancies. Those checks give the team a way to detect problems and investigate the transactions behind them.
Make ledger data available to the team
The engagement included data infrastructure for ledger events and historical balances, with pipelines to make that information available for analysis, debugging, and finance workflows. Documentation and training were part of the scope so ROH’s engineers could maintain the implementation.
The initial ledger implementation went live in September 2026. Piton Labs continued engineering work with ROH after the release.
